The Story.

Hi! My name is Auguste Pugnet, and I grew up near Marseille in the south of France. From a young age, I’ve been passionate about sport and health, driven by a desire to explore my physical and mental boundaries. My journey into adventure began early—at 16, I cycled 6000km across Europe. The following year, I paddled 2800km down the Danube River in a kayak, and at 18, I crossed Morocco on foot.

Sport and movement have always been central to my life. I’ve explored a wide range of disciplines—climbing, snowboarding, cycling, running, tennis, and more. For me, exercise is essential to staying balanced and grounded.

To deepen my understanding of health, I ventured beyond sports, experimenting with practices like meditation, Wim Hof’s cold therapy, week-long water fasts, survival expeditions, and various dietary regimes such as keto, vegetarian, and vegan. My goal has always been to find the right balance between mind and body, and I’m continually progressing toward that goal.

These experiences have shown me that true health is still widely misunderstood and challenging to achieve. While society often equates health with physical appearance, genuine well-being involves understanding how to live in harmony with our bodies and recognizing the long-term value of maintaining equilibrium.

Bryan Johnson’s "Don't Die" project, though extreme, offers valuable insights into optimizing health and longevity. It’s clear that being healthy isn’t just about moving, eating, or sleeping well; it’s about a comprehensive approach that considers all aspects of life. As we live longer, the challenge isn’t just to add years to life but to ensure those years are lived in great shape—remaining active, autonomous, and able to enjoy life. This journey requires commitment and (re)learning, but the rewards are life-changing.

My time in the tech world has also shaped my vision. Over the past four years, I was a founding engineer at Worldcoin, a company co-founded by Sam Altman. I also contributed to building Manafund, a startup funded by Max Novendstern. These experiences in the Bay Area exposed me to an optimistic, futuristic mindset, which I now want to bring back to Paris. I’ve seen how bold ideas can shape the future, and I’m eager to apply what I’ve learned to inspire and build in the health environment here in France.

Despite my active lifestyle, I realized that mobility and recovery—key components of sustainable health—are often neglected in mainstream fitness. As I trained harder, maintaining mobility became increasingly challenging, and I found that stretching and recovery were often overlooked in favor of strength and aesthetics. In our culture, a "fit body" is often equated with abs and muscle mass, ignoring the foundational importance of mobility.

Existing options like yoga, massage, or spas cater to specific communities, but they don’t fully address the needs I identified. This led to FlexLab—a space where recovery, mobility, and overall well-being are prioritized.

FlexLab is envisioned as the ultimate temple of recovery, where mobility, sleep, and nutrition are recognized as core components of fitness. It’s a sanctuary for those looking to rejuvenate their bodies after intense training sessions. More than just assisted stretching, FlexLab is about building a community where recovery isn’t a solitary task but a shared journey.

Imagine a place where assisted stretching is just the beginning—where you can access saunas, red light therapy, ice baths, and cryotherapy, all under one roof, available through an accessible membership. FlexLab is not just a facility; it’s a hub where those focused on recovery can connect, share their journeys, and support one another. We’ll offer services like stretching, therapy, classes, longevity products, and the latest in recovery technology.

FlexLab is just the beginning—it’s the foundation of a broader vision to promote health, vitality, and a new mindset for living. In the future, I hope to build and support ventures dedicated to various aspects of wellness, from sleep and nutrition to advanced recovery techniques. I aim to inspire a revolution in our lives: making healthy living fun, empowering, and a source of joy for everyone.

We live in an era where quality health solutions can be made accessible to all, and by prioritizing the right values and embracing continuous learning, we can make a lasting impact on how people approach their well-being.

Together, we can build a future where wellness is at the forefront of how we live and thrive. Let’s embark on this journey and create something extraordinary, one step at a time.
